Happy Birthday Mum!

Today is my Mum's birthday, and Ian and I cooked dinner for the family. It's so awesome when the 8 of us get together :) It was a night of fun, food and family.

And it was lovely for all of us to get together and celebrate our Mum, Mom, Mamma.

We served homemade hummus and bruschetta to start, with champagne cocktails. For dinner we started with my famous curried cauliflower soup (made with my homemade stock). For the main Ian made his famous Beef Wellington, with garlic green beans and frites with truffle oil.

Then we served store bought red velvet cake for dessert.

A Huge Big Fabulous Happy Birthday to my awesome Mum. I love you very much, and you make me so happy to have you as my Mum and as my friend. :)

Connecting

Three couples, six friends got together tonight for the first time in a long time.

Short but sweet...it's been too long and having the six of us (plus one) get together was wonderful. I love when we're all able to get together and share food and laughter and love :)

It's a moment of pure joyousness ;) a reason for being. Thank you.

Boardgames

I love playing boardgames! :)

I can't think of a boardgame that I've played that I didn't like or wouldn't play again. I love to learn new boardgames. I also love winning! :)

Tonight we played a favourite, Catan, and learned a new one, Funglish. Both are great games. I find Catan addictive and a ton of fun. Funglish was neat and makes you think.

The other great thing about boardgames is that you play them with people, friends. You laugh, make things up, tell jokes, create inside stories, share strategy.

Tonight we got together with an old friend and made a new friend, we ate a lot, played a little and laughed a lot.

Thank you boardgames for another fabulous and entertaining night!
