Chee Cha Puffs

So...in addition to the fabulous Pop Rocks yesterday I was really at the Bulk Barn to pick up my new most favourite and loved snacks! They are only 2 Weight Watchers PointPlus points for 2 cups...which is FANTASTIC. A whole bag is only 7 points (whereas 30 chips is way more than that!). AND...most exciting of exciting...they have Tomato Ketchup flavour.

I mean...Hellllllooooooo-oooooo? That's only my favourite flavour in the whole world. Yes...seriously! I LOVE Ketchup chips, popcorn and now Chee Cha Puffs. They're kind of fabulous.

I feel healthy just by eating them. I feel better because I know I'm not hunkering down with my hand in a bag of chips. They're lovely...and you can get gluten free too. :)

Anywho...I'm in love with my Chee Cha Puffs. So when you're wondering what I'm doing in the evenings (other than blogging of course)...just know that whatever I'm doing, I now have a bowl full of Chee Cha Puffs to munch on while I'm doing it!

Taking Care of Myself

It feels really good to take the reins when it comes to my health.

I consider myself to be extremely healthy. I've been working in a school going on two years now and the only sick I've felt is a hint of a cold each fall when school starts. All the sickies come through my office, use my phone, borrow my pens and touch my stuff and yet I am one of the healthiest people at work.

However, I have some nagging ailments that I've been trying to get under control. From 8+ years of chronic back pain, to some mild eczema, to major hair loss due to alopecia areata. Sure I'm not sick and I barely ever take time off, but these issues plague me.

Slowly but surely I'm managing these problems. The back pain is a work in progress, with a miracle worker of a physiotherapist (if you need one I recommend him in a heartbeat!) and my regular appointments with the chiropractor.

I've been seeing a dermatologist for the hair loss, but I feel like I've reached the end of the line and need something more.

Today I sought out that something more with my first appointment with my new naturopath. She seems wonderful and although she sent me home with homework (!!!!) and asked me to make some major dietary changes (I'm giving up dairy...*le sigh*), I feel as though I've taken control of my health from a more active perspective...I feel like I've already won half the battle!

So although my love of cheese is temporarily (if not permanently) put on hold...I feel in control and better for it.

I really felt good, out in the country at the holistic medical centre today, being part of my own solution :)

3lbs!

I've been on the new Weight Watchers's PointsPlus plan for 1 week and I lost 3lbs! :)

I expected to do well this week. It was my first full week of the new year, I had just come off the holidays, I had been gaining over the holidays and eating "off plan" for about 4 weeks. I was still trying to track and make healthy choices but I was still going over every week.

Plus to to add a little more pep in my step there's a whole new plan.

All of these things were just what I needed to get my butt in gear. It also helps to have a goal date.

I set my goal weight early last year but was yoyo-ing for the past 6 months. So one of my news years resolutions is my goal date. A goal weight is great but without a timeline there's no real push to get it done.

So...weight set...check...date set...check...and 3lbs right out of the starting gate! I'm good to go.

I now have 13lbs that I want to lose by Wednesday, May 18, 2011. :) I look forward to keeping this happy weight loss momentum going.
